Chichen Itza on a normal day, early morning before the crowds
As the Sun sets over Temple of Kukulkan aka El Castillo, during the Spring Equinox, the light and shadows dance down the side of the pyramid, resembling a serpent. The crowds that assemble to watch the light show can create a very electric vibe. If you enjoy crowds, you might like being there this time of year. Regardless of when you go, you will have a great experience. Make sure you take the time to visit Dzilbilchaltun while you’re in the Yucatan, it’s not as crowded and just as beautiful!
This is what the crowds look like during the Spring & Fall Equinox
