Congratulations Guelaguetza Restaurante!

We want to congratulate the Lopez Family and their restaurant, Guelaguetza Restaurante, for being honored by the James Beard Foundation with the American Classics Award.  The Award recognizes great regional restaurants that “are treasured for their quality food, local character, and lasting appeal.”  L.A. Times food critic Jonathan Gold wrote: “At Guelaguetza you’ll find the sort of Oaxacan dishes you’ve only read about in travel magazines, the dense, banana-leaf wrapped tamales filled with pungent mole, the unstuffed enchiladas sprinkled with cheese and bathed in a musky, red chile sauce …”  If you can’t make it to Oaxaca but want to sample her great cuisine, no better place than at Guelaguetza!

We couldn’t be happier for our friends at Guelaguetza!  Next time you are in the L.A. area, make sure you pay a visit to this American Classic! Tell them Dave Miller sent you!
